#1010 closed enhancement/feature request (fixed)

Different menu tree items are displayed when clicking on the map

Reported by: Owned by: KaZeR
Priority: major Milestone:
Component: core Version: git master
Severity: Keywords: menu

  • Navit version: navit-svn-4923
    • Device: Samsung Galaxy Tab P1000
    • OS: Android 2.2
    • latest map from planet extractor

When tap on map, one of the following menu items is displayed:

  • Menu -> Actions -> Map point
  • Menu -> Actions -> Map point -> Poly -> Attributes

We need a consistent behaviour each time when clicking on the map. I think always displaying "Menu -> Actions -> Map point" is good enough.

Thanks, Ciprian Alexan.

Well there's similar opinion at #962c11.

I'm going to review this subject in a few days. Everybody are welcom to express other suggestions before I commit :)

Plase note that this behaviour is completely configurable in navit.xml.

I also support the suggestion of the ticket opener as a default behavior.

Don't show too much details as suggested by korrosa (see #962) done with r4934

Hi guys, This is not fixed. I have tried vavit svn-4937. The probem reported initially still exists. When tapping on the map, didferent menu items are displayed. Some of the time, Menu -> Actions -> Map point is opened. But sometimes Menu -> Actions -> Map point -> Poly -> Attributes is opened.

I don't think that going dirrectly to advanced point attribute is what a user wants to see when tapping the map. If somebody wants to see the attributes, he can do so. But this should not be the default behavior. I think that displaying "Menu -> Actions -> Map point" menu each time when tapping the map is what should be implemented.

Thanks, Ciprian Alexan.

Are you sure you're using fresh navit.xml from r4934 build?

Change with r4934 is very slight and it touches only navit.xml. No change is done (nor required) for navit binary. So please make sure you have

<img cond='button' src='gui_map'><script>position(click_coord_geo,_("Map Point"),8|16|32|64|256)</script></img>

and not <img cond='button' src='gui_map'><script>position(click_coord_geo,_("Map Point"),8|16|32|64|256|1024)</script></img>

in your navit.xml.

I was not using a fresh navit.xml. It was my old & customized xml. I will try with the new xml and reply with the result.

Navit is working as expected.

I have tried with correct XML settings as suggested by Tryagain. Bug closed.
