#1056 new enhancement/feature request

Enable automatic switching between imperial and metric for vehicle speed and altitude

Reported by: xj25vm Owned by: KaZeR
Priority: minor Milestone: version 0.6.0
Component: core Version: git master
Severity: Keywords: osd, i18n, units
Cc: shop@…

Description

When it comes to using the "remaining distance to destination" in OSD (navigation.item.destination_length[named]), this will switch the units it uses between metric and imperial depending on the value of the "imperial" attribute in navit.xml. However, the vehicle speed and altitude are always in metric. It would be really helpful if these two would work the same as the "remaining distance to destination" element, and switch automatically to the suitable unit of measurement.

I guess, after suitable modification of the code, they would have to take the following syntax in navit.xml to emulate the way "remaining distance to destination" works at the moment:

vehicle.position_speed[named] vehicle.position_height[named]

  • Keywords osd i18n units added
  • Milestone set to version 0.5.1

Sounds like a bug of existing feature (lack of consistency), so I will schedule it for the next hotfix.
