Save routes and map changes to file

Description

It would be useful if Navit could store routes and map changes (such as traffic distortion) to a file that the user could later load. An option to clear everything (“new”) would be useful too.

The current destination is saved to destination.txt in the data dir. On startup, if that file is present, Navit recalculates the route to that destination. (Storing the entire route would fail if the map data were to change between launches.)

Traffic distortions entered through the GTK GUI (which seems to be the only GUI with support for that) are saved to a file called distortion.txt in the data dir. If that file is added to the active mapset, the traffic distortions are considered for routing. However, this is very rudimentary—see #570 for true traffic support, which is still under development.

Since there hasn't been any further activity in two years and it is not clear what features we would need to add (apart from #570), I am closing this ticket. Feel free to reopen if the above points do not cover what you would like to see implemented in Navit.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
