Hello,

I was planning to use Navit with garmin maps too, but this bug makes them useless.

So I started a little investigation hoping that I'll succeed to fix this myself. Here are my first conclusions:

  • The bug appears with any garmin map (even the "free basemap from Garmin" used in the Garmin_maps wiki)
  • The bug persists since revision 1850 of the trunk. So a useful hint to anyone who needs to use garmin maps is to build Navit from a revision smaller than 1850 (of course this version will miss a lot of features added later).

I'll try to collect more info by looking at the changes in revision 1850.

Best regards.

  • Milestone set to want patch / contribution

Unfortunately, the garmin driver isn't directly from navit, but from libgarmin( http://libgarmin.sourceforge.net/ ). I have to tag this ticket as 'Want patch' for now, if anyone wants to investigate more / fix it.

  • Resolution set to wontfix
  • Status changed from new to closed

The garmin mapdriver has currently no maintainer. I have to close the ticket as wontfix, sorry. If someone wants to volunteer to update/fix it, help is welcome.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
