    1010Right now I'm back from a trip Gelsenkirchen to Münster, Germany. The standard way is to join the Autobahn A42 at Gelsenkirchen Schalke and then join the A43 at Herne which will lead you right into Münster. Problem is, there is a major roadwork in the city of Gelsenkirchen which makes it hard to enter the A42 at Schalke. So I started with the car-shortest profile (modified version as posted above). After 10-15 minutes I switched to car-standard and got directed to the A42 and then to the A43. Everything went fine then until reaching Marl. There is another roadworks on the way. So 5 km before reaching Marl, I switched back to car-shortest. Navit called next out and directed me overland. Again 10-15 minutes and I decided to switch back to car-standard again. Back to the Autobahn and straight home.

    12 As there was no traffic jam along but only road works, it might have been better, just to go on with the standard-profile all the way. But if there was a jam, this would have spared 30 minutes or more. I was 10 minutes after navit-calculated car-standard ETA.

    1414I'm pretty shure this will work for 500 km distance travel, too. Allthough a field report has to be anticipated.
