#1054 new task

Admin/Trac: add Navit Wiki as OpenID provider

Reported by: mvglasow (2) Owned by: KaZeR

Severity: normal Keywords: trac, login, openid

Can we add a link to the navit wiki as an OpenID provider for Trac? Some people (like me) use their wiki account for trac, and although it is possible to just select OpenID and paste as the OpenID URL, this way is not really user-friendly. It would be nicer if I could just select "navit wiki" as the authentication source and enter my user name, rather then remembering the URL to the wiki authentication page.

Maybe I didn't put it properly... what I meant was: On Trac's OpenID login page, there are several OpenID providers that users just need to click and then simply enter their username. Logging in with a Wiki account works but requires typing in the URL manually (or copying it from the instructions).

The workflow I had in mind was: have an icon for the wiki to click; after that users simply have to enter their username instead of the full URL. This is about the user experience we had before OpenID was introduced.

If that's an easy one... if it's not possible or too complex, feel free to close as WONTFIX.

The trac plugin we use for OpenID ( has a config option for adding OpenID providers to the login form ("custom_provider_name", "custom_provider_label" etc.).

We just need someone with access to the trac server to set this :-).
