make it possible to omit the navit keyboard in this screen and use the system keyboard as e.g. on Angstrom 2007.12 for h2210 ipaq. this makes the keyboard switchable (more screen for info) and more complete.

For both GTK and internal, you can also try setting keyboard="false" inside your <gui...> tag. Then you need to use your system keyboard.

Thanks for fixing the keyboard enable/diable.
As you (may) know there is some keyboard/Navit interaction on my H2210 ipaq runnign ANgstrom that is not yet explained. I asked in #angstrom without response. It is: When I open the ansgtrom keyboard for entering e.g. a town name, navit goes back one menu. When I have the keyboard already open other similar stuff happens. How to debug?

It happens only with Navit? We could trace the key events received when navit is in a menu and you fire up the keyboard. I suggest that you open a new bug for that, since it's a different issue.
Just as in ticket #150: Try the internal GUI - this has a builtin keyboard that should fit your needs.
