Description
It is possible to add elevation data to OSM files: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Srtm2Osm
But do maptool and navit also support parsing the elevation data to bin files and using that info to create a height profile, elevation lines or adapted routing based on the elevation profiles.
I believe that drawing elevation lines would be easy, the other ones would be diffificult. For a height profile, each node inside an elevation way should get some kind of elevation tag. This is equally difficult as applying is_in tags to objects in boundaries. And for adapted routing. It is too difficult to imagine for me.
